Therapy can be short-term or open-ended and can take place wherever suits you, with in-person, outdoors or online sessions available.
In-person therapy
I work from K&R Health Suites and Silk House Therapy Rooms - were I offer face-to-face appointments located in Macclesfield, Cheshire East.
This is a safe, private space for you to share worries and reflect on your current situation.
The venue has plenty of nearby parking and is a short walk to the main local Train Station.
Online Therapy
Online therapy sessions are an alternative to face-to-face therapy and can be done from the comfort of your own home. These sessions are ideal for people who are working from home, unable to travel or feel safer within their own surroundings at home.
My Approach
Your story, your experiences, and your feelings are deeply unique. Recognising the distinct paths we each tread in life, my therapeutic approach is rooted in pluralism, a belief that there is no 'one size fits all' in therapy. Instead, I believe that different individuals resonate with different therapeutic processes and activities at varied points in their lives.
At the core of my practice is a humanistic ethos. I see you – not as a set of symptoms or challenges – but as a whole, multifaceted individual. This perspective is not about 'fixing' but about understanding, facilitating growth, and fostering self-awareness.
Being trauma-informed, I prioritise creating a space that feels secure, where you won't be overwhelmed by past experiences. It's a sanctuary where you're acknowledged, validated, and truly heard.
However, the most crucial aspect of my approach is you. I believe that you hold within you the wisdom and intuition about what works best for you. Our sessions are collaborative, involving you in a process of informed decision-making. We'll explore together, decide together, and embark on a therapeutic journey that resonates most with your needs and aspirations.
It's not about walking a predefined path but crafting a journey together, one step at a time, centred around your unique experiences and goals.
How do I know if I need therapy?
Good Question!
It's a question many ponder, often in quiet moments of introspection. Deciding whether to seek therapy can be as individual and nuanced as the myriad feelings and experiences that lead one to consider it. However, some signs might indicate it's time to reach out for professional support:
Persistent feelings of overwhelm
Disturbance in Sleep and Appetite
Recurring Patterns
Increased Isolation
Dealing with Trauma
Feeling disconnected from self and world.
Remember, therapy isn't only for those who feel broken or in despair. It's a space for growth, understanding, and exploration. Whether you're navigating significant challenges or seeking clarity and personal development, therapy can offer invaluable insights.
If you resonate with any of the points above, or if there's an inkling within suggesting that speaking to someone might be helpful, trust that intuition. Sometimes, the mere act of starting the therapeutic journey, of acknowledging that support might be beneficial, is a powerful step towards wellness.
